How do I document missed parenting time?
You are worried the missed time will be forgotten or disputed later.

Short answer
Write down the date, planned time, what happened, what was said, and any child-related impact. Save the messages or records that show the details.
Start with the planned time
Write what was supposed to happen first.
Include the date, start time, end time, and exchange place if you know it.
Then write what happened
Keep it factual.
Example: Pickup was planned for 5 PM. The exchange did not happen. Message sent at 5:12 PM.
Save the source
Attach the message, calendar note, call log, or other record.
If there is no source yet, write source pending and add it later.
Track make-up time separately
If make-up time is discussed, save that too.
Keep the missed time and make-up time easy to compare.
What to do first
Create one missed-time entry with planned time, actual result, and the source that supports it.
What to save
- Parenting schedule or order if you have one
- Messages about the missed time
- Calendar entry
- Call log if relevant
- Notes about child-related impact
- Make-up time messages if any
What to avoid
- Writing insults in the record
- Guessing motives
- Leaving out the planned time
- Saving screenshots with no date context
Start with one small step
Log the missed time with the date, planned schedule, what happened, and the source record.
