Equalora.ai

Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 12, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Equalora.ai collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website and services.

1. Information we collect

  • Account data: email address, authentication identifiers, and basic profile information.
  • Case data: documents you upload, OCR text, notes, deadlines, and other content you store in the dashboard.
  • Usage data: log data, device information, and general analytics about how the app is used (not marketing tracking).
  • Billing data: subscription and payment details are processed securely by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers.

2. How we use your data

  • To provide and secure your Equalora.ai account.
  • To perform OCR and AI-powered summaries on your documents.
  • To show you dashboards, timelines, and reminders.
  • To troubleshoot issues and improve the Service.
  • To comply with legal or accounting obligations.

3. Legal bases

We process your data based on:

  • Your consent (for creating an account and using AI features).
  • Our legitimate interest in operating and improving the Service.
  • Contractual necessity (providing the subscription you choose).
  • Legal obligations (e.g., record keeping for billing).

4. Third-party processors

We use trusted providers to run Equalora.ai, including but not limited to:

  • Supabase – database, authentication, and file storage.
  • Netlify – hosting and deployment.
  • Stripe – billing and subscription management.
  • OpenAI / other AI providers – processing text to generate summaries, explanations, and suggestions.

These processors only use your data to provide services to us and are bound by appropriate data protection terms.

We do not use your private case data to train public or shared AI models. We process your inputs to provide the requested features (for example, OCR, summaries, and drafting assistance).

5. Equalora in ChatGPT

You may choose to connect your Equalora account to the Equalora GPT in ChatGPT using OAuth. This connection does not give ChatGPT open access to your account. You choose the case and the supported task, and Equalora sends only the information authorized for that particular workflow.

Depending on the workflow, this may include a minimal case label, limited hearing information, draft text you ask to stage, or the specific Lawyer Catch-Up material you selected in Equalora. Equalora uses opaque references where practical instead of exposing internal account, case, or database identifiers.

Judge Practice accounting records content-free progress metadata, such as a session reference, event type, and round number. Practice questions, answers, critiques, and transcripts are not sent back to Equalora merely to record that accounting progress.

Equalora and ChatGPT/OpenAI are separate services with separate data handling. Information sent through an Equalora Action is processed by Equalora under this policy; your ChatGPT conversation is also subject to OpenAI's terms, privacy policy, and the data controls for your ChatGPT account. Review those controls before sharing sensitive information in ChatGPT.

Disconnecting Equalora revokes the current Equalora connection credentials. Nothing is automatically filed, sent, shared, or added to your case through the GPT. A supported draft or handoff workflow may stage material for your review, but you must take the explicit confirmation or save step described in that workflow.

6. Data retention

We retain data as described in our Data Retention & Deletion Policy.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate information.
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data.
  • Object to or restrict certain types of processing, where applicable.

To exercise these rights, contact support@equalora.ai.

8. Security

We use encryption, access control, and other safeguards to protect your data. See our Security Policy for an overview.

9. Children and minors

Equalora.ai is designed for adults managing family law matters. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.

Family law documents may include information about minors (for example, children's names, schedules, or school records) because users upload their own case materials. When that happens, we process that information only as directed by the account holder to provide the Service.

10. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised policy.
